Selfies and Stuff Found on Film (read more)
There are very few photographs of David Chudy later in life. And even fewer of him at work. But in his twenties, during WW2 and for a short period following, he seemed keen to record his artistic and personal activities. Many of these would be called ‘selfies’ these days. They represent a period of discovery. This was the new African experience but some in this collection are from later extensive safaris and a major Far East road journey. The majority of these are photos which only recently came to light – a tranche of old damaged negatives which were scanned and restored.
